Best sceneries in Sebastian Florida

Sebastian is among the few remaining Florida’s East Coast places that maintain a small-town vibe, not overly tilted towards its tourists. It is nice and quiet, with typical barrier islands, small downtown areas, and wild marshlands.

This City is a nature lovers’ oasis! The River Area has +20,000 acres of preserve spaces for hiking, birding, and horseback riding. Being located in Florida’s tropical rainy region, Sebastian is home to Pelican Island, The Breezeway Trailer Park, and other beautiful sceneries scattered throughout the City.

Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge

This 1903 established Refuge offers a range of recreational areas for photographers, birders, tourists, and people that enjoy watching sceneries. It has two loop trails that give a unique view of the refuge’s habitats and the wildlife around the salt marshes and the mangrove habitats. The Centennial walking trail offers fantastic scenery of the Centennial Pond. You can also find an observation tower at the end of the track and a boardwalk right in the middle of the Indian River Lagoon to get a good view of the Island.

Stormwater Park

This multi-functional City park helps the City’s environment by capturing and retaining stormwater runoff, preventing flooding. It also helps reduce the percentage of total nitrogen and phosphorous (both from fertilizers), along with sediments and suspended solids.

With the smell of pine along the trails, this Park offers important habitat types like oak hammocks, scrub, pine flatwood, and herbaceous wetlands. You can also find water birds and land birds like egrets, cranes, woodpeckers, and even wading birds.

Riverview Park

This beautiful community park is located along the Indian River in Sebastian’s downtown. It hosts significant events like the annual clambake festival, Art and Music Events, Wildlife festival, and even the 4th of July celebration. This open space, with oak-covered walkways, offers visitors panoramic views of the River and recreational areas.

Besides the events held at this Park, you can also find a Veteran’s War Memorial, a splash Pad, sand volleyball courts, picnic pavilions, and twin piers for sightseeing, birding, and fishing.

Breezeway Trailer Park

Situated on Indian River Lagoon, right across from the World Famous Sebastian Inlet, With a full-time Manager, this RV park is a quiet Adult community. You can enjoy its fishing pier, waterfront, and beautiful scenery. Launch your kayak or canoe at the shore or a boat on the nearby ramp for new unique experiences. All RV sites are paved and high-leveled, with 30/50 Amp service and full hookup; RV, Boat, and Trailer Storage are available. There’s a Wi-Fi hotspot, and it’s pet-friendly.
